Camp Lulu, Greensboro, Vermont

The owners, an extended family, wanted a camp with large porches where they could spend most of the summer and a rustic, cozy interior for dreary days.  They chose the camp's cruciform shape for its maximum ventilation and views; most of the rooms have windows on three walls.

The kitchen, for example, opens directly to the screened eating porch with a pass-through and has its own breakfast nook that gets full morning sun.

The interior uses wide-board wainscoting, beadboard, real plaster, and wood ceilings.  Real tree trunks were used for the porch and staircase, and an oversizedfireplace was essential in the living room.

This camp has been featured in Vermont Magazine (July 2006).
